MarketWatch: Why record-high gold prices aren’t scaring away first-time investors

Gold has surged past $4,000 an ounce. But the story isn’t just about price.

COO & Senior PM Jerry Prior told Myra Saefong at MarketWatch that “demand is greater than supply,” with investors leaning into gold as a diversifier when markets feel fully priced.

Fear of missing out and gold potentially serving as a “diversifier in a toppy stock market” have contributed to the rise — and “who doesn’t like a diversifier to stocks that is going straight up?”

Chasing performance isn’t part of our playbook. As Jerry points out, the better long-term opportunity is often in rebalancing back to target — a process that can quietly compound wealth far more effectively than tactical calls on non-income-producing assets.
