Asset TV: The ETF Show - Private Market ETFs Have Huge Demand, But Liquidity Concerns

Alternatives are getting a lot of attention, but the label doesn’t guarantee diversification.

On AssetTV’s “ETF Show” with Kristin Myers, CIO of Managed Futures and COO Jerry Prior noted that private equity and private credit are exposed to the same economic drivers as public markets and can behave similarly in periods of stress, even though they’re often positioned as diversifiers.

Managed futures operate differently, accessing futures markets across bonds, currencies, and commodities with the ability to go long or short, providing exposures that can respond differently when traditional assets struggle. In those environments, liquidity becomes critical, because diversification only matters if it can be realized and rebalanced.

Diversification is defined by how exposures behave when it matters most.
