Robert Barbera
Chief Economist
Bob has worked as a Wall Street economist since 1982. Prior to joining Mount Lucas, Bob was the Managing Director and Chief Economist at Investment Technology Group. He also has held leadership roles at Capital Investment International, Lehman Brothers, and E.F. Hutton. Early in his career, he served as an economist for U.S. Senator Paul Tsongas and for the Congressional Budget Office. A former lecturer at M.I.T., Bob is currently a Fellow in the Economics Department of The Johns Hopkins University. He is the author of The Cost of Capitalism: Understanding Market Mayhem and Stabilizing Our Economic Future. Bob holds a B.A. and Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University.

Nan Lu
Director of Quantitative Equities
Nan has worked in financial analytical modeling and simulation since 2000. A specialist in stochastic modeling of international financial markets, she joined Mount Lucas in 2004 and provides key leadership in risk management, financial engineering and dynamic optimization. Before joining Mount Lucas, she was a founding partner of Frontier Wealth Management. She received a Masters degree from Princeton University in Financial Engineering and a Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University in Computational Fluid Dynamics.

David Aspell
Portfolio Manager
David joined Mount Lucas in 2011 as the firm’s Chief Risk Officer. Prior to joining Mount Lucas, David spent approximately 6 years at Man Group as a Senior Risk Manager, working in London, New York and Chicago. He holds a Masters degree from Nottingham University.

Kent Huang, CFA
Chief Risk Officer
Kent joined Mount Lucas in 2008. Prior to joining Mount Lucas, Kent was a Client Service Relationship Manager at Goldman Sachs in their Prime Brokerage division where he was promoted to Vice President in 2007. Kent graduated cum laude in 2001 from Rutgers University with a B.S. in Finance and is a CFA charterholder.

Matt Ennis
Matt joined Mount Lucas in 2008. He is primarily responsible for the daily trading activity in the quantitative and discretionary portfolios. Matt graduated from The College of New Jersey with a B.S. in Finance.

Adam Drozdowski
Adam joined Mount Lucas in 2009. He provides support in trading, account reconciliation, and economic research. Adam graduated from Rutgers University in 2009 with a B.S. in Finance.

John Young
Chief Information Officer
John joined Mount Lucas in 2007. He develops software and maintains the infrastructure used for trading, research, and client service. John has been working in information technology specifically for financial institutions since 2001.
